Biografie
Zuzanna Mika is an organist and soprano of Polish origin.
She graduated with distinction from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), completing degree programs in Organ Performance (Konzertfach), Catholic Church Music, Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy (IGP) in Organ, as well as in Voice. She studied organ with Martin Haselböck and Balázs Szabó, and voice with Birgid Steinberger and Martina Steffl-Holzbauer.
During her organ studies, she received several awards, including the mdw Appreciation Award (Würdigungspreis) and the mdw Great Talent Award powered by Christian Zeller. She also won third prize at the Marian Sawa Organ Competition in Warsaw.
As a concert organist, she has performed on historically significant instruments, including the oldest organ in Vienna (Wöckherl, 1642) at the Franciscan Church in Vienna and the Freundt organ (1642) at Klosterneuburg Abbey. She has appeared at various festivals, including Goldene Stunde at the Jesuit Church in Vienna, the International Frédéric Chopin Festival in Gaming and the International Organ Summer in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin.
As a soprano soloist, she has performed major works such as Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Joseph Haydn’s Stabat Mater, and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël. Among her notable appearances are renowned festivals such as the Trigonale Festival in Carinthia, the Kirch’Klang Festival in Upper Austria, and the Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina, where she performed with pianist Natalia Rehling.
She also performs regularly with the duo OrganVoices, which she founded together with the Italian pianist and organist Sophie Magnanini. They focus on repertoire for organ four hands and four feet as well as works for organ and voice. In 2026, they performed on the Rieger-Organ of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.
Zuzanna Mika serves as organist at the historic Sieber organ (1714) in St. Michael’s Church in Vienna. She is also active as a teacher of organ, voice, and piano, as well as a répétiteur, at the Franz Schmidt Music School in Perchtoldsdorf.
